RICH HOWE NAMED GENERAL MANAGER OF KAZT / EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF LONDEN MEDIA GROUP
The broadcast veteran of more than 40 years takes the reigns of Phoenix / Prescott’s only locally-owned television station

Phoenix, AZ – May 17, 2012 – KAZT (AZ-TV Channel 7, Cable 13) owner Lynn Londen has announced that Rich Howe has been elevated to General Manager of AZ-TV and Executive Vice President of Londen Media Group, LLC effective immediately.

His television experience dates back to 1980 at KCRA-TV in Sacramento before moving in 1983 to KUSK-TV in Northern Arizona. After the station was purchased by Londen Media Group in 2002, Howe transitioned to the National Sales Manager / Prescott Station Manager role at KAZT-TV under late-GM Ron Bergamo. Rich becomes the third General Manager in AZ-TV’s tenure, succeeding Jeff Burnton, who left the company in April 2012.

Clear Channel moves Glynn Alan to run three markets – Las Vegas, Tucson and El Paso. Glynn should be accustomed to the multi-market routine, because he’s been cycling between Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Fort Collins for the last 14 months. Now he’s relocating to Las Vegas to take the title of Regional Market Manager for Vegas, Tucson and El Paso, supported by newly-named Regional Programming Manager Chris Pickett. Pickett’s based in Las Vegas. There’s a third promotion – Chris Kelly is the new ops manager for Tucson.

A celebration of life.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at Hansen Mortuaries, Desert Hills Memorial Park, located at 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 at 10 am on Saturday May 5, 2012. Relatives and friends are encouraged to join the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s or Chances for Children.

Dave was a magnetic personality and a prominent figure in the Arizona radio community.

His passion for radio began his career, reaching Phoenicians during their morning commute as anchor, producer and co-founder of Skyview Traffic in 1985. This would not be his only entrepreneurial venture, as his vision and love of radio brought him future success co-founding two additional companies: Arizona News Radio/California Headline News and Skyview Networks. He was seen as inseparable from his companies’ successes.

Dave, an adventurous man, loved the water and counted sailing, scuba diving and sport fishing among his many interests. Other passions included motorcycling and riding dune buggies with his 11 year old son.

Dave was a kind, compassionate man who was deeply loved and will be missed by many. He was a family man who was deeply devoted to his wife, Diana, and his son, Matthew.

Dave is also survived by his mother, Jean, stepfather, Don, and two brothers, Brad and Gary.

Please help us support Ava and her family. Ava, almost 5 is in the fight of her life as she faces an inoperable brain tumor and a tumor on her pelvis. Ava has been given limited options as she has been battling cancer for over 3 years. She recently qualified for an experimental vaccine trial in Houston, Texas which requires extensive travel multiple times per month.

On Wednesday May 2, 2012 there will be a fundraiser to help alleviate the financial burden for the family of this extraordinary little girl.  It’s called, “Rock 4 Ava” taking place at the Crescent Ballroom, in Downtown Phoenix.

In addition musical entertainment being provided by incredible local talent including Roger Clyne of the Peacemakers, Vinyl Station, Obediah Parker, Angela Anne and Tim & Willy from KMLE Country 108 we are also raising donations through a silent auction table with 100% of the proceeds going to Ava and her family.

It has been announced by Mike Wisniewski, a manager at the FM stations at Clear Channel radio, that Ashley Jensen-Green joins the FM sales team. Ashely joins the team from CBS Radio where she spent the last couple of years.
